Nature Reserve management

Today's volunteering task for the merry team involved the removal of large swathes of tufted hair-grass using machine, rakes and muscles.

Apparently it is a very common species but within nature reserves it must be kept under control. Unfortunately it's not something cattle like to eat (very tough).

This was at a Reserve I'd not worked at before - beautiful day, beautiful countryside.

My camera - but I didn't press the button. So guess which is me!
