Friday 24 August 2012: Citrus Shed
This is Chrissie, all dressed up!!
She is watering in the greenhouses.
The plants here nunber about 3500 in this shed and have been budded. They will be sown out before Christmas, so that they get the full value of the rainy season. We have improved variety orange (5 Varieties), grapefruit, tangerine and limes. We always have a few unbudded local lemons to provide seeds.
She has two more jobs as well as well as her responsibility for watering: Harvesting and drying seeds as well as being in charge of First Aid. Yes she has the full box kit with bandages, plasters and of course a few painkillers, but she is careful on dosage and frequency. If it's not on the box you don't get it!!
