Fairbourne

The line of concrete blocks were placed at the top of Fairbourne beach during WW2 to prevent or discourage a landing of tanks by the enemy at this point. It might seem odd that it was thought an invasion might take place in such a remote location, but then the last invasion of mainland Britain did take place near Fishguard in 1797. Then the French were the invading enemy!
