Christ Church Taita Hutt Valley NZ -almost MonoMon

This little church is the oldest complete building in Wellington, build by local European and Maori families. It is still a consecrated church today and used regularly.

It was instrumental in the founding of the Historic Places Trust in NZ when the Anglican parish tried to have the church moved after the railway went in, and were stopped by the local people who wanted the church left where it was and is today. It was the first time NZers had banded together to save a historic building.
