Into The Unknown

Wet Weymouth

Another wet start to the day so we went to Weymouth on the train.
Weymouth used to be rather run down and shabby but the Olympics has really made a difference- everything has been painted in lovely seaside blues and cream and it's all looking very smart and exciting ready for the Paralympics next week.
We saw the Olympic flame travel through the town in a lamp on board the town train and it had a great reception from the holiday crowds.
My blip is the harbour road bridge that opens up at 1 pm to let tall ships through. I haven't seen it do this before so had to take a photo. On the town side next to the steps is a great fish and chip cafe where we had fried mackerel- delicious if you are there for the day.
