Monday 27 August 2012: Bike .....
tootle .....
After a day spent couped up at home, this evening I've been out on the unofficial Ilkley harriers Monday evening bike tootle. After texting Sheena earlier we agreed we would go if it wasn't raining, of course after texting an hour or so before the ride to confirm we were going, the heavens opened and it hasn't stopped raining since.
Along with me on the ride tonight were Sheena and Jim, who had just returned from a weeks holiday in Venice this morning ( the lucky so and so's ), Keith and Mr M. We just had a steady ride out to Bolton Abbey and back, all getting soaked in the process. Somehow myself and Sheena also managed to get completely caked in mud splatters.
At Bolton Abbey we stopped at the tearoom where there was a nest of swallows under the porch, as soon as I got my camera out, they decided getting wet was a better option than being blipped. On the way back Myself and Keith had a few blasts up the hills to blow off a few cobwebs and Jim managed to aquire a slow puncture but luckily made it back to Ilkley before his road tyre went completely flat.
This shot was taken near Addingham just before the final hill home, by that point water had penetrated everything including my camera, so to distract you from how blurry this image is I have faffed around with it in snapspeed and also turned it B&W so that you are not blinded by all the flourecent yellow that was on show. Keith is at the front followed by Jim with Sheena in the black and Mr M bringing up the rear. So today's blip is the rather damp .....
