Still some way off.
Heading back across town after Tuesday football. It was 'youth v experience' (or at least that was the polite description - 'the young guns v the old codgers' was another, less favourable billing!) Scoring followed a slightly strange pattern - we ('experience') started by going into a 3-0 lead, including a personal brace. After several near things at both ends, we then conceded an own-goal that swiftly led to three more for the youngsters, so it was then 3-4. However rather than running out of steam we oldsters rallied and responded by finishing off the scoring with three more goals, unanswered, leaving 'experience' the winners by 6-4!
Earlier I had taken advantage of the good weather to cut back the hedge in front of the house further back than it's been since we moved in thirteen years ago.
