Exodus

The summer's sunny death throes bring out the shoppers, like a thrashing fish drawing sharks. They're after Back To School deals, vitals and necessaries for offspring off to university, a new selection of clothes for the autumn, and some may even be Christmas shopping, the mad bastards. But even shops have to close at some point, and send the sales sharks packing, laden with goods and craving their hot panini and espressi. (Yes, I am such a complete wanker when it comes to grammar and linguistics that I insist on correctly pluralising the names of Italian foodstuffs).

Here, the Bull Ring exodus is well underway, as the consumers eye the dipping sun and seek warmer climes.
