Red Breasted Merganser (F)

I tend not to run on consecutive days but I so enjoyed yesterdays that I felt the urge to do it again!  And, on the same route, knocked a further minute off my time despite feeling rather leg sore.  Fitness returning!

I knew that the bird was a merganser but was surprised to find (I like to be accurate!) that this is the female of the species.  She is more colorful but perhaps less striking than her more monochrome opposite.
