Friday 31 August 2012: Aspendale Gardens
So, today I woke up and went to Pilates. A great little studio about 200 yards from my front door. I'm pleased to say it went well. They do a completely different type of pilates to what I have been used to in the UK. It's on machines and it really does make you work. I'm in Melbourne for around 2-3 months so I wanted to start classes straight away and continue throughout my trip to Cairns. It's expensive, but I'm discovering that that is the way of Australia.
After my pilates session I wandered around Aspendale Gardens trying to familiarise myself with the local area. The sun has come out today and I was trying to find the beach. My general instinct, and some rough directions I had from one of the vet nurses down stairs, was to just turn left out of the clinic and keep walking.
How hard can it be?!!!!
Well, I got lost and having not taken my sun glasses my eyes were really feeling the bright sun. Fear not, for I was wearing my factor 50+ suncream so no burning in sight. I stumbled across the shopping centre which has pretty much everything you could need and only about 800 yards from my flat. So far, everything seems to be going very smoothly indeed.
