25 years

today was probably one of the best days of my life. (i feel like i say that a lot, which i suppose isn't a bad thing!).

after what feels like months of planning, preparation and running around like crazy, the school mission 25 year anniversary was an incredible celebration.

we were joined by all of our staff, volunteers and interns from around the country as well as many other friends of school mission, the local government official and even the local tv crew! people testified of the impact school mission has had on their lives over the last 25 years and we praised God with much singing and dancing for his faithfulness to this organisation. 3 of the interns performed a poem which got the most amazing reception and made me feel like a proud mother. and we had a yummy cake.

one of the most significant moments (above) was 3 generations of school mission: past (founding director and his wife), present (current staff) and future (interns) saying a prayer of dedication. 3 flames were lit to signify the passing of the baton and each generation re-committed themselves to the vision of school mission.

amazing. i felt overwhelmed to be part of such an amazing organisation.

(one of the best parts of the day was handing over the photography responsibilities to one of the interns. he did such a good job!)
