Blue Mountains Icons 15

Now it's hard to say what the icon should BE here. This image actually conjoins a NUMBER of Blue Mountains features.

The land is either the northern Kanimbla Valley or the Hartley Valley (given that it's north of the Great Western Highway) although the TRUE Hartley is far off in the distance and just to the right around that rising ridge.

Of course the icon could also be the ridge itself (admittedly you can't see it especially well here) which goes by the name of Mt York. Then again the icon could be Victoria Pass from which this shot was taken and which is the contemporary solution to that historical engineering problem: how to get the Bathurst road gently down from the great Blue Mountains ridge to the slopeland below.

Actually the light was so wonderful this afternoon that Norma and I went for a drive down Victoria Pass to Hartley and the Cox's River Road. It is absolutely scrumptious Australian countryside. Why not take a look at a few of the pictures I shot today and uploaded to my Temporary Blipfolio?
