Visit to Giverny

Today we went to the village of Giverny. This village is famous for being the home of Claude Monet and a place visited by many painters over the years.

We went to see the house and garden of Monet and they were lovely. The garden is full of sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos and many other flowers that I could not name, all of them wonderful flowers. The garden also has the water garden that can be seen in many Monet paintings. The bridge, boat and water lilies were all there.

We went to the Hotel Baudy for lunch, sitting outside in the sunshine. We then had a wander around their garden before driving back through the country to our little house.

We are now all packed up ready to return to the UK and will be back on a boat to cross the channel tomorrow.
