Fishing the Tweed at Melrose

His Lordship and I packed our overnight bags, and clutching our bus passes travelled south to Melrose this morning; and yes, there was a break at Pebbles for the customary high rise cranberry and walnut scone. I make no apologies for my consumption of the latter having lost a stone of blubber since the last one I ate.

Thus refreshed, it was back on the bus for an hour of gazing at Borders countryside before being decanted in the centre of Melrose.

Such a lovely little market town and even lovelier with the sun breaks through the mistiness of the morning.

My blip was taken near the chain bridge on the Tweed looking up river, with two fisher men at the calm pool above the turbulent water.
