it is Friday

It was Kikbak at Burgundy's last night and this is Julie Rogerson, not only on her funky sax but also vocals - she has an infectious joyful character and althiough I am quite pleased with this sketch, as she does move around a lot, those eyes don't fully capture this joy.
The extra photo is Steve Wildgoose, in total contrast, is the cloned laid back bass player.
Behind Julie is Mike Kidson on drums and I heard that he was the drum technician for Phil Collins and Paul Mcartney and Tour Manager for many years with Genesis, Phil Collins, Mike and The Mechanics , Robert Plant , The Who , AC/DC...... and so many more !

The fourth player in this Quartet is Pete Kassel -Guitar and vocals.
 
The band plays a vibrant and eclectic mix of their own versions of Blues , Soul, Jazz, Rock and Funk classics by such artists as Motown, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder , David Sanborn and Miles Davis.

I was totally shattered at the beginning of the evening, having been away in Cambridge and Sheffield with the National Trust.   but totally inspired during the evening by such talented people playing great jazz.
