Through a lens darkly

Reed Hall from the Tower

The early morning fog is slowly burning off to reveal a gloriously sunny day! We watched from the Physics tower as the surrounding landscape slowly emerged from the white mists.

This is a shot of Reed Hall, on Exeter University's Streatham Campus. It was originally "home to the Thornton West family, wealthy merchants who traded in the Eastern Indies during the second half of the 19th Century" but was left to the university in 1906.

A more detailed history of the building can be found here. These days, it's used for corporate events, weddings, balls and as a very reasonably priced B&B.
