Goosey goosey

Goosander...... or mergus merganser to give it its Latin name!

I think this is a female....we've seen a pair earlier this year. I hope to see them again!

Goosanders are members of the sawbill family, so called because of their serrated bills. Some birds breed in U.K., the the RSPB quoting approx 3,000 breeding pairs, but others just overwinter here.
