Burngreen

Tuesday's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers was actually in Kilsyth - not too far to travel then!

Meeting near the Swimming Pool (more or less across the road from where this was taken a couple of days ago!) we walked through Burngreen Park (pictured here later in the day) on to and then through the Colzium Estate, past Banton Loch and into Banton itself.

After a short break we left Banton and headed south to the Forth & Clyde Canal at Kelvinhead and walked along that until we reached Craigmarloch (the original, not the Cumbernauld one!) from where we headed back into Kilsyth.

At just over 11km it was a bit longer than our usual Tuesday walks, and took a bit longer too, which might explain why some of the group decided to get the bus back from Banton to Kilsyth. We were occasionally threatened by hail or snow - there was certainly a brisk wind and it was quite cold - but it never came to anything and most of the walk was conducted in sunshine, much to our relief.
