Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Tired of listening....

Today we went to a neighborhood library for one of the excellent opera previews.. a 45 min live singing production of Seattle’s Magic Flute.  There were 5 young wonderful singers (some from the chorus I believe) and the usual fabulous accompanist who today had to bring her 2 children along.  Much to do about where they wanted to sit but ended up right behind Mom where she could turn around with her eye on them.   They were good as gold for about 30 minutes (oh my , are they young opera lovers?) but then the little girl started punching her brother who only briefly retaliated with a fist but they were certainly done listening!  (and entertaining for us)  Mom didn’t miss a beat!  (Mom and “papageno” in the extra)

A brief visit to the Marimekko exhibit at the Nordic Museum, a stop at Trader Joe’s and relaxing drinks and hearty nibbles with friends M and T (the walking wounded) was enough lively stimulation for me today.

If you are interested, Just a word about the college of he environment event we attended last night…. there was never such a college when we were in the University!  Heard students and faculty talking about 3 projects,, the newly (2008) reintroduced grey wolves to Washington State and the ecosystem effects and how they are being studied, the COASST project of citizen volunteers who monitor washed up seabirds and debris on the ocean beaches and what it means, , and 3rd, a most interesting collaboration of different disciplines trying to get hard detain how being in nature is good for our health….and new environmental games to teach children how to protect our planet. (they agreed this s an oxymoran…. get more people outside in nature but with their electronics,..but these electronics aren't going away anytime soon…)

whew, too many interesting topics to think about!
