Sunday 9 September 2012: Forest Fire
This afternoon a forest fire started about 18km from where we live in Peachland. The wind has been blowing very strongly directly towards us from the fire. We aren't too worried about it reaching us as it would have to go through the whole downtown business center and thousands of homes before it reached us. Almost 2/3 of the town would have to burn first which is highly unlikely. The helicopters have been filling their buckets to fight the fire in the lake in front of our house. I had some shots of them close to the surface of the water but they didn't turn out very sharp since I don't have a zoom lens.
