If you can't beat them...

A grand day out.

Back in the autumn I learned 2 old colleagues had returned to the area after about 40 years away.  After our original meet ups we decided to go on a walk.  This was set for early December, the death of my SiL put a spanner in the works and it has taken until now to find a mutually acceptable day.

So under a cloudy sky we set of for Rydal, as we left St John's in the Vale the cloud was starting to lift.  By the time we got to White Moss Common it was glorious.  So we wandered along to the Cave, well I suppose quarry really.  Then back along the hillside to Grasmere.  Ending up with the stroll along the river back to the car park.

We rounded off a wonderful day of weather, chat, reminiscence and photography with a lovely lunch in the Badger Bar.   Where I regularly watch the Badgers on the Wildlife Trust webcam.

The etra is the unexpected Bluebells which filled the woods and flowed out on to the fellside.
