Claughton Manor

I spotted this brick today made at Claughton Manor Brick Works, Caton near Lancaster.

The brickworks which is now operated by Hanson was mothballed in 2010 after a reduction in orders. The brickworks is famous for the aerial ropeway which crosses the A683, it is silent at the moment but hopefully it will be running again one day.
