Olympian Torso Sculptures

Currently in the Cloisters of Salisbury Cathedral - until 16th Sept - are 'The Avenue of Champions', by Ben Dearnley, a series of busts mostly made from actual casts from current Olympians.

Using the 14mm f2.8 Sigma on the full-frame D700 I angled myself to get them all in, the nearest bronze is actually a 'concept bust' made of 'Adam, 'the first man in the Bible'.

The dull daylight suited, for shadowless and non-contrasty results. I decided to clone out another visitor who was down the far end; that's one of the hassles of a free, publicly accessible exhibition. I also used a 24mm and my shallow depth-of-field Nikkor 135mm f2 for my other studies here.
