Geometry in Nature

After spending most of the day in a meeting, I went out for late afternoon walk on one of the local cycle paths with my husband looking for geometric patterns for this week's challenge. After a few uninspiring photos I suddenly recalled the fractals that exist in nature, so we started examining the weeds along the path - for that was all there was. Who would have thought that a dandelion head could be so beautiful? Near perfect circles composed of straight lines making an intricate sphere.

Hopefully also suitable for Wild Wednesday and maybe even Wide Angle Wednesday (first time I've come across this one) :)
