Thursday 13 September 2012: Merit Making Field Trip

A bunch of school kids came to this temple for a field trip. They all took their turn to earn merit by waiing the statues, putting incense in the spirit houses, and ringing the bells.

It's interesting how much Buddhism is intertwined with school here, especially from my American perspective where almost no religion is allowed in schools. But from the Thai perspecitve, Buddhism is intertwined with most parts of life, whether people realize it or not, so it's natural.
