Peeping Duck

It's been a rather nice day weather-wise, so I made the most of it this evening with a good long walk with the dog. I could hear a young Red Kite calling from a tall scots pine, but couldn't see it. There were large flocks of Goldfinches feeding on the thistle-down and the starlings were starting to congregate on the electricity wires, but all too far away.

I was peeping through the hedge at Marsh Farm, where the wonderful evening light was glowing on the pond, when this little lady paddled into view. I only managed this one shot before she took flight. Not a great composition, but I like the light.
