Rabbits and Magpies

First thing this morning I cut the remaining grass that I did not get finished yesterday; I was back indoors by 0915 hours.

Today’s picture is of two rabbits and two magpies, taken through the kitchen window. They were over by the far side of our orchard, just in front of the ‘wild garden’. We have some fledgling magpies and these two had just chased the rabbits away from the vegetable peelings that I put out for them.

The two extra pictures are the end result of what I did for most of the afternoon and evening finishing knitting and sewing up of the blankets. These are called maternity packs and consist of a blanket, a fish and chip jumper, a hat and a cuddly teddy; they will eventually go to new mothers in Africa. The jumper is knitted in one piece and is called a fish and chip jumper because often the babies go home from hospital wrapped in newspaper. The jumper can be knitted very quickly in a couple of evening; it is knitted in one piece so not much sewing up and no buttonholes to make.
