A tiny furry pixie hat

I wanted to capture these teeny tiny lanterns right from the start. First comes a small white flower which opens up. When the petals fall off, the tiny lantern starts to grow underneath a charming little furry pixie hat with upturned edges!  As the lantern develops (see on the last but one photo on the left of the collage), it turns a lovely shade of pale green. As it matures it slowly turns orange and will resemble the one on the tag!

This is the first time that I'm growing a Physalis in a big pot on my balcony and it's quite an exciting experience!
