Backblip: Dog Hus

It was an interesting experience travelling North on the overnight ferry. We had been allocated reclining seats in the on-board cinema. It was a calm sea, thankfully as we had a long journey ahead of us. The Northwards journey is 2 hrs longer than the Southbound one, to allow the boat to dock in Lerwick at a reasonable hour.

Well, 07:30 may be reasonable for some but I felt very unrested when required to leave the boat!

This old phone kiosk caught my eye in Lerwick - tucked away in Fort Charlotte. I wonder where the dog sleeps now (but what a great way to keep the winter firewood dry!)

We conducted some business in Lerwick, shooped for supplies at Tesco and then headed up to Brae, where we stopped overnight at the Delting Matina caravan site. A side trip to Frankie's, Britain's most northerly Chippie provided our hot meal for the day
