Fire and Water

What a beautiful sunrise I witnessed this morning, but have to admit that it was VERY cold!!!    That's Mt Muade in the background.  Home for breakfast, then into town to meet my photography friends.  6 of us there today.  I am posting early, as I am off to collect little 'h' from school, and take her swimming, then out to Luggate for a family dinner.

Fisher & Paykel commenced business.  In my house I have their Washing machine, and Dish washer.

The Treaty house and grounds at Waitangi were dedicated as a National Reserve.

An earthquake 7.6 at Pahiatua.

Bank notes were issued by the Reserve Bank.  (Extra 1).  That's Captain Cook.

The Empire Games were held in London.  NZ won 1 gold, (Jack Lovelock in the men's mile), 1 bronze in the men's triple jump, and 1 bronze in the swimming 100 yards freestyle.
