Waihi Pump House

Today we drove to Katikati to catch up with friends from our training college/university days.  It was so lovely to see them and spend a long time chatting.  

We had lunch at a pancake house - it was ok but won't be going back in hurry.  Stopped off at Waihi for a quick walk up to the pump house which was built in 1903 during the goldrush times.  In 2006 they moved it 300 metres to save it from destruction.  It is such an awesome building and today was a great day to photograph.

Then it was home to get dinner, have a bit of a relax, enjoy a wine before bedtime and another week starting.
