Getting the Wind Up

Strange blip today. It is quite windy but the urban helix wind turbine is stuck or switched off. When it works, it spins extremely fast, in fact so fast it is difficult to make out which direction it rotates (clockwise or anticlockwise). The more you watch it - the more you think it is going one way - and then if you concentrate it appears to go in completely the opposite direction. This must be some strange optical illusion or psychological effect.

Watching and thinking about things like this.....well it is just what academics do !!

Busy day of new targets, initiatives and research creativity/innovation. Nothing to do with wind turbines however; this was just taken in passing.

Everton v Newcastle tonight. Lets see which way the wind blows.....
