The Edge of the Wold

It's a long way from Arnside to Raasay, nearly 400 miles.  So Wifie decided that as a anniversary/birthday treat, we would break the journey somewhere we had never been to before.  This was Port Appin on Loch Linnhe, and here is the jetty from where the small foot passenger ferry crosses the sea loch to the island of Lismore.  This is the view from our hotel window after the sun had set and when we were replete from a meal in the hotel's seafood restaurant.

Before that we had a midgey walk through the village to give Gus a stretch of his legs after what was still quite a long journey.  Mind, Gus travelled luxuriously in his nest in the back of the car, while the rest of the cabin was stuffed with everything we needed (and didn't need) for the two weeks away.  The locals in Port Appin have found a novel and commendable use for their old and redundant phone box, see Extra.  I haven't checked, but I have a feeling that there will be lots of blips out there of phone boxes put to new uses.
