Viva St Antonio

We timed our visit to Anzio perfectly again this year to coincide with the Feast of St Antonio celebrations.

As witnessed previously on our visits the procession starts at the chapel and winds through the town and finally out to sea during which the land and the sea are blessed.

Our vantage point from our balcony was just amazing as it stopped right below us to celebrate Angelita di Anzio.

The main blip shows the top brass all togged up for St Antonio and the extras give a sense of the parade that slowly makes it way to the port.

The last extra shows the shenanigans as the local police and road sweepers try and clear the route of cars parked up along the beach road. Fans of Young Montalbano will recognise Mimi Augello supervising proceedings, hence why it took so long :-))
