Sunset over the Motueka Harbour

Gentle colours and calm water as the sun began to descend behind the mountains, this is the Motueka Harbour.

A big day on the road as Hubby and I headed away. The cold front from Antartica left behind spring snow on the Spencer Mountains and made for a picturesque journey through the Lewis Pass.

We met up with TeeJay and Kiwilizzie at the Red Barn and I met the very famous Tony, who was proud to show off his feathers. Lovely to see both TeeJay and Kiwilizzie again, a chatter over lunch in the warm sun, thanks to you both :))

Hubby and I then continued our journey taking I think a longer route through the Moutere valley, an area for growing hops, specialising in varieties for aromatic beers, locally and also for export. There are lots of old kilns dotted round the landscape many now used as storage for farms.

Arriving in Motueka not long before the sun began to set, we went to the foreshore and saw the old hull of Janie Seddon before heading round to the harbour.

A great day, headed out to Hot Mama's for dinner. We're on the road again tomorrow, hopefully reaching our destination for the rest of our time away.

Keep well blippers :)
