Marlborough Waterfront (Sunday 9th July 2017)

I paid a visit to the Waterfront Garden in Marlborough this afternoon, and found Val, who manages it, hard at work preparing for the judges from South West In Bloom who will be visiting on Thursday. There is a spectacular display of plants and flowers in planters, hanging baskets, borders and growing wild and I took a dozen or so photographs. She asked me to get a shot of the splendid purple loosestrife growing on the banks of the Kennet, so here it is (on the actual day, for a second time in a row).

We saw a red kite above the river, orange-tailed bees collecting nectar from the hollyhocks and swallows swooping in to drink from the river.

If you happen to look at the album below you will see that I also befriended another cat. When I got home there was a strange power play going on between Fluffy and Smokey.
