Reluctant to Leave

Six weeks ago, a pair of lesser black-backed gulls (Larus fuscus) hatched a pair a chicks between our chimney pots.

Apart from a wee drama two days later, they have progressed well. I first saw one fly last Sunday and they have made several flights since but are still reluctant to leave home.

Here they are still begging for food from mum or dad. I expect them to disappear within the next day or two.

Last year they hatched three and fledged one.
This year they hatched two and fledged two.
