Abstract

My mission to do a blip challenge a day continues. Today, one I have not followed for a few months - Abstract Thursday.

It is a montage of things around my favourite Salford building. Despite the fact that it had been tipping it down with rain, the top left image represents sunshine. The bottom left includes some of the ancient timbers, going back over 400 years. The top right is a bit of public art, and would have been a good abstract in its own right. I like the little fallen flowers at the base of the kerb. And bottom right is the one internal shot, a piece of art I think in the making. The Hall was lively with kids, so appropriate to include some of them here.

It's a very friendly building, and its context is surprising, surrounded by social housing. And why not.

200 meters away Channel 4 News yesterday was from a local pub. In front of the bar Jon Snow quizzed a group of people about regeneration, change and gentrification. Public broadcasting in the UK - well balanced, no fake news or vitriol. Thank goodness.

Thanks to Ingeborg for this challenge.
