Insulator

This (I am pretty sure) is a piece from an old glass electrical insulator from a telegraph pole. It is quite thick, gently curved (not very apparent from the photo) and has grooves which are typical of insulators.

 I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised that there is a website devoted to glass insulator collecting.
