Autumn colours on Loch Striven

On the second sunny day of the weekend, I was amazed to see how dead the bracken had become since I had last looked - a combination of rain and foreign travel having got in the way. The leaves are turning, the air is distinctly chilly, and by late afternoon you feel that the day is almost over, as opposed to the long hours of the days in summer.

I hate to say goodbye to summer, but autumn is undeniably beautiful - and it's not as if this summer has been much to shout about...
