By Himself

Into Kerry

A beautiful day to hike almost the last section of the Beara Way from Kenmare to Glengarriff. Almost the last because there is an alternative route for this section that I may do later.
A lot of road - a very pretty road with occasional distant views through the wooded hedgerows, but road nonetheless, hard on the feet and legs.
A short, but very steep ascent over rough ground up to 363 metres (1191 ft) and then a descent into the woodlands of Glengarriff.
23km (14.3 miles) in about 5.5 hours. And a double ice-cream.
