Floor Tools

Busy day today. We stated with promoting the Community Orchard Fair coming up in a few weeks in the village. After that I spent a few hours at the CarFest Inquiry in the village. In the late afternoon we started the miserable process of ripping up perfectly good 1936 22x150 mm T&G floorboards so we could get underneath them to insulate them. Suffice as to say it was very slow going and destructive of the tongues. We didn't stop until 9 pm, when we crashed out. So far no boards utterly ruined but they are never going to be the same again and about 25% for the dining room is now insulated.

We don't actually care about the overall finish of the boards when we put them back as we're going to lay a decorative floor on top, but that doesn't stop me feeling bad when I destroy the tongue on a board to get it out...

While I'm not one of nature's natural DIYers, it's been okay so far...
