Lady of Spain, we adore you........

This is Spanish Maria with Doris, who had all the cousins round to his house today for what he calls 'nibbles', but the rest of us call 'a five course dinner'!

Maria stayed with Mr & Mrs Doris for over a year when she first came to Edinburgh. She was a tiny thing who spoke little English and missed her big family back home in northern Spain. But she soon settled in, and eight years on, speaks our language better than most of us do, and with a lovely Scottish accent.

She adores Doris - even if he does keep coming up with daft names for the baby - and he thinks of her as another daughter.
