Inverness invaded by Vikings

At just before nine o'clock tonight Vikings started to march down Inverness High Street and up to the castle. Lead by the Inverness Pipe Band with roars from the Vikings behind they approached where J, Little un and myself were standing . Crowds of people gathered keen to get a photo so it was quite hard to get an uninterrupted view but we were lucky and near the front at the bottom of the grassy slope in front of the castle. The Vikings gathered and sang the Up Helly Aa song which was great as we had sang it at our Brownie Up Helly Aa last year. They continued with  couple of modern songs which was funny and made every one laugh. Highland dancers than performed with the Vikings returning with their torches lit to finish the evening.

Lots of rain over night and during the morning causing landslips and flooded roads. The field next to us had fast flowing water rushing down it. The sun came out to make an extremely pleasant afternoon. I spent the whole time in the garden planting  the Hanging baskets with plants I bought at B&Q yesterday.I managed to get some good bargains :)

I still have the sound of pipes in my head.
