Make hay while the sun shines...

One of those days again. Rain first thing just to get the day off to a bad start.
Left one mucking out and the other spreading slurry and went down the road to feed cattle.
Wee brother and the 2 herds busy sorting out sheep and weaning some of the blackie hill ewes and lambs .
Had to go and help him calve a cow . The calf came out dead so we went and caught one of a set of twins and stuck it on her.
By 4 pm it had dried up enough to spread the grass we are hoping to make into hay.
Went back down to Newtongrange to check the wheat straw but it was still too raw to bale.
Plenty of combines round about tonight cutting wheat , but our barley will be 10 - 14 days away yet. Hope the weather holds.
