Energy Efficiency

This is the (newish) University of Northumbria building in Newcastlle (it's sited where the old Warner Brothers cinema used to be, near to Manors metro stop for those of you familiar the city). Very few lights were on in the actual offices and although the building is lovely, I'm not too sure about its energy efficiency statistics with this amount of light blazing into the darkness.

Also, no idea if the cagelike structure around it serves any purpose other than aesthetics although it IS very striking :-)
