Friday 28 September 2012: Perfect Getaways amidst the hills

Coming down from Pussellawa, you arrive at the very sleepy village of Kotmale. A highland surrounded by mountains & tea estates, lay the exquisite manor house - Mass Villa.

It's an old colonial ancestral bungalow of one of Sri Lanka's best politicians. It has now been converted into a boutique property.

Enjoying a candlelit dinner out in the garden with endless mountains in the yonder is an exquisite way to spend your holiday. There's nothing much you can do here other than to just enjoy the serene relaxation amidst the mountains. You get to sleep in on every morning & we enjoyed a nice nature walk in the nearby woods & a boat ride in the evening was a perfect way to end the day. Fishing was also available, but since I wasn't too keen on the subject, I just let it go.

However it was relaxation at its best. Without a doubt, this is one of the best kept secrets in Kotmale.
