Saturday 29 September 2012: Marvellous Martinborough
Drove over the hill to Martinborough today for a 50km club cycle race (my 3rd event since joining). Only 4 people in my division and I didn't want to be the one not on the podium. Came down to just 2 of us going for a sprint finish at the end. I had no idea when to make a move, if any. We were watching each other closely, me just in front so I decided to have a crack. He got me right on the line, half a wheel in it....next time!!!
I didn't drown my sorrows in here though, having to drive 100km home again afterwards.
