party mk. II

After yesterday's birthday activities, it was time for the grandparents to make an appearance today along with my sister. The standard MO for these parties is open presents, eat food, get really excited and do lots of loud talking. The children, not us.

Food has to feature the classics: mini sausages, pizza, scotch eggs, crisps. However, and to our amazement, all of the children seem to like quite strong flavours and some that I remeber not starting to like until I was quite 'grown up': olives, pate, a selection of cheeses.

Next they'll be asking for some robust reds and access to port for after.
