Balfour Village, Shapinsey

An indoor blip today because I'm full of the cold. Very frustrating not being able to go for a run when the sun shines (however briefly).

This is a painting by my Scottish grandfather (my mother's father), David Craigie, who started painting in his seventies. He painted this from memory. It is of Balfour Village where he lived as a child in the late nineteenth century. His family home was the cottage in the far right of the picture. I wonder what Balfour Village looks like now?
